Beavers

Beaver Scouts is the junior section of Scouting Ireland and is for boys and girls aged six to nine years of age. Beavers usually meet weekly in the Parish hall and their program revolves around games, arts and crafts and other activities designed to stimulate the imagination and encourage members to have lots of fun whilst making friends. Once a month an outdoor activity or walk is organised.

Overview

The Beaver programme is centered around badge work, learning and most importantly fun and games. The Beaver badge work system is centered around the Paw Prints badges. There are eight Paw Print Badges. Each one deals with a different topic e.g. nature, safety, arts and crafts etc. The Beaver section is also designed to prepare your children for the Cubs section and later the Scout section by introducing them to the ideas of scouting, teamwork, and badge work. Beavers are allowed camp outdoors once a year, todate this has been a great success.
